Reviews for Garmin nüvi 200 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator:
I have searched many GPS and after thinking a lot,i went for this...this is really a good stuff for less price. I didn't find any problem till now...the satellite reception is almost superb and it recalculates quickly...If you are new to GPS,always ask for the updated software and maps so that you are not lost :) Overall a good stuff.
I purchased this item for a trip to Burlington,Vermont then camping for a few days in the White Mountain/Lakes Region of New Hamshire on the way home. This litte unit was awesome!
It works right out of the box. There is no need for having to study an extensive manual,if fact the manual is just a few pages as the unit is so intuitive to operate.
It took us straight to our hotel in Vermont which was was also stored into the units Points of Interest. This included a required U-Turn to take us to the hotels entrance due to a divided roadway. Amazing.
From Vermont it took us on a scenic trek eastward through the mountains on country roads we have never been on. This was also the fastest route to our destination.
The couple of times I made small deviations from the planned path because I thought I knew better,it would instantly re-calculate the route. Each time from the get-go it was right and I was wrong.
The best part of using this mighty little GPS for our trip was the complete absence of paper road maps! No having to ask the spouse where we are and when the next turn is. Thus,no aggrevation and discouraging words!
You can travel with complete confidence with this compact and economically priced tool of technology.
Great product, very useful. One thing I found missing in this GPS is 'Text to speech' feature. For turning right,GPS will say turn right and it will not say 'turn right onto '. I knew that before I purchase. Now I am used to this GPS. Overall I am very happy with the product.
I am recommanding Garmin GPS to my friends.
I saw an add for another brand advertised for the same price as the nuvi 200. After checking the reviews,I found the nuvi had much better comments. I bought the nuvi, and Amazon delivered in record time,as usual. I am so impressed with the product. Something that is not clear in the description is that the nuvi does have voice directions; it just doesn't announce street names. Instead of "Turn right on First Street," you get,"in .5 miles turn right." The display is clear, bright, and easily readable. I had it up and running within minutes. It only takes about one minute after having been off for a long time to resync to the satellites. If it has been off for only an hour or less,it is ready to use as soon as you turn it on. Mine shipped with the current map software,City Navigator 2009. So far,I love my Garmin :).
This is the 4th Garmin nuvi that I have purchased and the best price by far. I was the first to get one and I am sooo impressed with it. Very user friendly and very accurate. Have bought them for my sons (they were constantly borrowing mine) who can't find their way out of a paper bag and even they are able to navigate with it. I would highly recommend this product for anyone.
